Stila All-Day Liquid Eyeliner Review

Hello Lovetts,

Now you guys know I am a drugstore girl. Lets be honest, I can't afford to splurge. Splurging is for girls who work above 7.25. That being said, I got lucky and been gifted several Sephora items last Christmas season. I was quite upset tho, because for the life of me I could not find my Stila Liquid Eyeliner which I lost the very same day I got it.

Which led me to buying the Maybelline Masterpercise which along with the other maybelline eye products I love so much.

The stila was an adjustment for me. I hate eyeliners that don't come in a marker shape. This was in my beloved marker shape but it took me a while to get the hand of winging my eyeliner with this eyeliner. It had such a sharper point. It took practice (unlike with the maybelline) for me to symmetric winged  eyes. I have way more mess ups then success that it became habit to have my hair cover one of my eyes. Its always my right eye that has the mess up. Also at first, they eyeliner use to irrate my eyes when I put it on. It no longer does that now that i've gotten use to it.

Despite my shortfalls with they eyeliner;  I love the shape of the pen. I have more room to fix of mess-ups  and it's really precise. I can try more wing designs then I was able to before.

The best thing of all is it really lasts 24-hours, no smudge and really waterproof.

So overall I give this a 7. It took me some time  to get use to it. That's a lie, it's still taking up time.  But it has just joined the official list of my daily products.

Now some photos of me wearing the eyeliner. But I guess you can barely see it lol cuz the lines are thin.

From Zero to Hero

This a slightly failed project my friends and I started working on in January. So this (ignore my opening comments) is pretty much a daily look that I do.

I was second guessing whether or not should I post this because I don't want certain people seeing my completely makeup-less face.  I did have some problems with lighting which I didn't figure until towards the end.

Also I will NEVER do a voice ever again. I have a lisp. It became most apparent when I did the voice over.

Next time I'll use a tripod stand rather then have someone film me. Shaky camera etc. Also not enough zoom ups. Also lot of bad angles *cringe*

All the negatives aside. I did like the end product. I looked gorgeous in the end and quite the opposite from the beginning. So yea, it is a zero to hero look.

Hair Chalk on Relaxed/Blown out hair

On a roll with blog postS. Since today was a snow day and I didn't have better things to do decided I wanted to try something new with my hair. I don't dye my hair. Even though I currently don't do perms any more and I survive on blowouts, I fear the amount of chemical processing that dying requires esspeacially layered up with my already chemically processed hair. So a while back I was so envious of Cheesie for doing this cute streak color in her hair.

So I was at Hot Topic the other day and I saw this little thing.

I asked the girl who worked there about it. She said it works and was the one who selected this brand for me.

Review:  The chalk for the most part does it's job. However it crumbles and creates a huge mess. Also it takes a lot more work putting on the chalk. In comparison to maybe a spray. I also feel like the chalk doesn't really stick to my hair. If I run my hands through my hair, I will have a lot of purple on my hands. The color lacked vibrance too.

So I rate it a 5/10. Next time I'll use a spray and use a red color.

Too Cool for School

Camera days are here again and here a quickie review post of the items I use in my current makeup routine for school. I don't have time to put on makeup at home in the morning; so every morning I have to do a quick little routine to get my makeup on within 12 minutes before 1st period. Which gives me enough time to do my makeup and have a bit more on than those girls on youtube who have those 5-minute makeup tutorials.

Well I don't necessarily put on all these items everyday but these are the items that I carry around with me. The things I carry with me are also some of my favorites.

I have two tiny makeup bags that carry the limit of items necessary.

The Hello Kitty one holds foundation and concealer.
The purple one holds everything else.

Already traded in my foundation for bb cream. I always wanted to try bb cream but it used to only be for asian skin tones. I used to mix my foundation with an asian brand. Now I just use this. It's really light and more of a tinted moisturizer but it gives me the coverage i need for a daily basis without people telling that I have foundation on.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream rating: 9/10

On a daily, I use NYX stick concealer which does the job but doesn't really firm my dark circles but covers the worst of the dark circles.
Rating: 5/10

This was my gift this year from Sephora. It's a champagne shade highlighter. I use it as eyeshadow for the center of my lids and for my inner corners. My only complaint that it's hard to use to glide on my actual lids since its a stick application. I use my fingers.

I got too lazy to keep editing photos and adding cool effects. Anyway I use Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadow because it's a long lasting non-creasing cream eyeshadow that I can just apply with my fingers. The color I chose also works well as a highlight when I rub it in well.

This little battered up thing is my trusty and highly pigmented eyeshadow color from the Sephora collection. It's silky and dark purplish. I use this as a crease color. I also love that this color is highly blendably. In the mornings I use this to blend with my highlighter to create a more defined crease.

My eyeliners! My favorite out of the bunch is Maybelline Masterdrama. It gives such a nice black and goes on creamy. The nk eyeliners are also good and only $1.

My current mascaras. I don't really use Falsies anymore. Mega Plush has good product but such an awful bush. They're Real was part of my Sephora gift which is really good for lengthening with separation. As far as I can tell, it doesn't lead to spidery lashes.

Today my friends and I were having a conversation about how to minimize the appearance of a slightly swollen lip. One of my friend was resistant to the idea of using something because she thought she would have to load up her lips with lipstick and draw attention to her lips. Another friend went on this rant "Lipstick isn't the only thing you could use. There are so many lip product out there now. Lipgloss, lip pencil, lip stain, lip crayon-- Like wow they have lip crayons now I don't even know what that is!" I whipped this bad boy out to show off. My trust Lip+Cheek Stick from Forever 21. Niffty little thing to bring some pink into my life.
Rating: 7/10 just because as a cheek stick it requires a lot of blendung to get rid of harsh lines.

Blistex! I swear that there is nothing that works as well as blistex to keep ur lip smooth for hours.Its only a buck and its gets the job done very well.

A flavorful lip gloss tube from Forever 21 that I like to pair with my  Lip+Cheek Stick.

Luxury Favorites:

Well for me these next two are luxury because they are expensive and I wouldn't pay for them myself personally because I'm really cheap.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte. Expensive lightly adds color to your lips with such a smooth texture that would even match regular drugstore brands. 

The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion was one of things all dark skin makeup gurus had to have. Lets be honest colors can tend to be less pigmented on darker skin. This primer fixs this problem and keeps ur makeup on for hours... It's the magical must have. I don't use it really for daily looks, for time management reasons. 

And that's it! Everything I take with me to school and use in my daily makeup routine. These items also are my current favorite makeup items. So I do suggest you to buy them!

False Lashes

More blogging from my phone O.o

Lately I've been constantly buying new lashes to wear.

I bought so many in a course of just of few days. I'm actually making an effort to cheat to the world with my appearance. 

The lashes from china are super cheap. But they are really hard to put on. So I began to buy from ardells... Also hard to put on. Then I fell in love with Kiss I-Envy Lashes. Cheaper then ardells and human hair lashes only $3 each :). If only I didn't have so much trouble putting on lashes day to day. I have more lashes then the one shown above but my collection just keeps growing (as my wallet keeps shrinking)

My second successful time I wore lashes. I still have mistakes like a bit of a gap but for the most part I really like this one. (And yes I'm wearing a superboy shirt :)

Demi Lashes that I wore today

Sorry crappy phone camera, but this  was for a photo shoot so I'll show you the prints later. The lashes are actually very natural to my surprise. It didn't really stand out much and was really droopy (no matter how much I curled them) Unlike most Kiss I-envy, this isn't made of human hair. So I guess expectations shouldn't overput. No matter, it looks nice on my eyes with and without circle lenses.

Ardell Fairies taught me an important lesson about lashes. Thin lashes that look super pretty on asians like Loraine from aprilfoolromance.blogspot.com, for the most part won't appear against my skin tone.

It looked the same as wearing Falsies Mascara. I might as well have been wearing mascara

I'll keep posting as I try out more. I also bought a lot of other beauty products so I'll review some of them too like the Revlon colorstay eyeliner, elf cream eyeliner, Elf pen eyeliner, etc etc. Leave a comment if you want for me to post more makeup posts.

Some funny stuff

Blogging from my cellphone ladida. The blogger app for android isn't that bad la. Everyone always says bad stuff about it but who knows.

These past few weeks have been bizarrely stressful for me. Usually I get more stressed during my midterms in january but my school has been throwing out bullshit after bullshit.
They suspended me for 2 weeks for cyber bullying wtf. The curse of being a blogger with an opinion right? I didn't even say anything bad. I didn't go all out with a xiaxuemoment.jpg I just said this girl needs to stop bothering people or else she'll get her reckoning. I didn't say I would be the one giving her reckoning but evidently that's a threat. Futhermore she attacked me at school for a totally different reason but according to the school she doesn't need psychiatric help, I'm the one in the wrong.... okay I do sound rather guilty but the way this all played out, this girl was really just psycho.

So in the middle of my suspension, my mom up and goes to haiti, unannounced to my sister and I. We were like wtf woman, why u leave us? So most of the time me and my dad were home together. That was super awkward because we don't talk to each other much. But we are so alike that its crazy. For example he had to drive me somewhere by 8am one Saturday.

We didn't get there until 8:45. Mostly my fault though.

Once I did go back to school I took habit to wearing subtle gyaru makeup every so I can develop perfect makeup for senior picture.  This one is using Kiss I-envy Au Naturale 03 and puffy 3 tone grey

 

These ones uses the Ardell Fairies lashes and puffy 3tone violet. Mildy okay attempts except the fact that I had gaps in between my fake lakes and real lashes at times.

Makeup of the day

Today was finally my last day of school. I can't be super happy yet because it doesn't change the fact that I still have 1 year left in school. I took so many pictures today but sadly my own camera still doesn't work nor and my phone camera completely refused to work all day. But my friends took many pictures.

Knowing I would take plenty of pictures, I spent time to put on the better of my makeup,  After putting on my makeup, I was a little upset on how natural it came out to be but it reminded me of how much I love Tsubasa Masuwaka's otona style and how I've been dying to try it for a couple of weeks now.  I'll probably  start using that style on Monday.

I ended up putting more makeup on in school lol. I haven't wore false lashes since last summer so I had a hard time putting on them on. In the end, I ended up putting on demi lashes -___-"

I did succeed however and getting a droopy look for my eyes.  

I really was feeling my makeup today but I know  I can do much better if I went into otona-style (note: none  of the pic above are meant to be gyaru style, so judge as ordinary style)

My Makeup Collection

So I decided to do a post on all the make-up I own. It's not much and everything I have is pretty cheap. But hey I actually own more makeup than my mother! She believes deeply in natural beauty and hates it even when I put a bit of eyeshadow!

My makeup collection is the equivalent to the amount of makeup a not-so-beginner-but-still-a-beginner makeup kit. I bought most of my stuff with my own money.

I put all my makeup into a makeup bag that a friend gave me for christmas. Before the bag, I used to put everything in a drawer. I really need to buy mini drawer to put all my makeup in but I keep forgetting.

My first item, I'll present to you guys is the E.L.F Limited Edition Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow ($10). It's a super long name that gets me tongue twisted every time but it's really lovely. I got it for Christmas and this is my second palette. 

The Palette has 100 colors in total. Out of my two palette this is my favorite because the colors are more natural. I can make hundreds of natural combos. I can use this palette everyday.

Here are some swatches. The colors are really pigmented but some colors can be very bright. Bright colors tend not to compliment me.

This is the first palette I ever bought. I bought it off of Ebay. Its called the Pro 96 palette ($9.26). This palette tend to compete with the Coastal Scents 88 palette and Bhcosmetics 120 and 88 palettes but I've use those palettes before. The 96 is pretty much the same as those ones. I saved so much money on this palette so I just said: If it's not MAC (or any other luxgury brand makeup), it's not worth the extra money. 

Here are some swatches. I like this palette because it's super pigmented and the colors overall are deep. 

Here are my broken up travel palettes. They didn't cost more than $3 and I needed them when I overslept and needed to do makeup in school everyday (which I stopped doing, bareface is okay too). They obviously couldn't handle constant travel in my bookbag. 

My false lashes collection currently. Usually I own a box of Ebay lashes and I own a pair of Revlon Fantasy  Lengths that I never wore but I somehow misplaced it. Go figure. 

This is a pair of Ardell Invisband Fairies ($3.49) that I had since January but never wore because I'm scared I might need them for a special event,

Gyaru lashes, if I ever feel the need. It was a korean brand ($1). I think it was Darkness

The upper left corner is ELF Essentials Limited Edition Silver Box Eyelash Kit ($3). It was a gift. The upper right corner is an Ebay off-brand. Also was a gift. The bottom one (which looks really disgusting but I only used it once, the box looks disgusting because  of my bookbag and it didn't agree, like my palette) 

My liquid foundation. Maybelline Mineral Power in Latte Dark 1-3 (which I believe is no longer sold). I bought it on Ebay (and its still sold on Ebay so I intend to stock up). It gives awesome coverage and because it's discontinued it cost a little bit more than a buck. 

I get this BB Cream for free whenever I buy circle lenses from thedollyeyes.com. It saves me from buying concealer. When I use this under my foundation it gives medium coverage while my foundation gives me another medium coverage. It overall cover up my eyebags and my occasional pimple (I don't generally get pimples on my face, I usually get them on my chest)

L'Oreal True Match Naturale. Keeps all my makeup together pretty well and it doesn't cake. Since all my skin products have SPF 15, 15 x 3,  45 spf, I think my skin is getting awesome protection lol. 

An off brand liquid foundation I bought to use as eyelid primer. It was a $1 and it's such a bad foundation that it works great for other things. 

My NK automatic eyeliner ($1). Looks like a gel liner except so much easier to apply.

Mattese Eye Drama. This pretty much sucks. But it's brush is okay.

A buyincoins product! One is a fiber and one is the the actual mascara. In combination it makes your lashes super long. It's called Flamingo...... (super long name). Only $2.18 and free shipping. 

Kiss I-Envy ($4.95). This also a very good mascara because the bristles of the brushes separates your lashes and indivually coats them. 

A Lumene Mascara ($1) that's probably discontinued but it's really cool because it a blue mascara but the blue barely shows. It give good volume however. 

An off-brand mascara ($!) its does a basic job.

My lip colors.

Slightly melted but a cute color. I got it from my sister so I don't the brand or the price.

This was a deep red from NK ($1). To my surprise the bullet broke when I opened it! Oh well, I didn't really like NK lipsticks, they are cheap but they easily give me clownish lips. 

My lip glosses. 

The two small ones are Sephora's Birthday gifts. They are a sugar lip treatment. The pink one is a red tint and the maroon one is clear. They really smooth my lips and moisturize them. 

This is a lipstick/lipgloss combo stick. I don't know where I got it but I think I got it for free when I bought my clothes for my trip to Disney World.

That's basically it for my makeup collection. It's relatively small in comparison to gurus and might be huge for those mascara-and-lipgloss-is-all-i-need type of girls. But a makeup collection isn't something you just all buy at once. It takes time for these things to pile. It called a collection for a reason. I will always have stuff adding on. For example I just got Elf Eyeliner Pen and a chinese eyelash glue today. When starting a collection, just take things two at a time!
