My New Year Resolution

Probably won't do it again but who knows! I actually did a lot off my list last year without realizing it.

1. Keep improving my makeup skills.
At this point Idk if my makeup skills will be gal or not. I'm inspired by gal makeup but it doesn't really suit me. I can only find out through more practice.

2. Be a better blogger.
Blogging has been so benifical to me but I haven't done such a good job this year of being regularly updated. That is something I have to change.

3. Lose weight, be more flexible, healthier lifestyle
I started working on this last year because I performed a lot. Weight loss was the added bonus. My life style isn't completely healthy because I do eat a lot of junk food.

4. Get better grades this year.
2012 was just the year for bad grades! Must change that in 2013.

5. Travel a lot.
Make my life a little bit more exciting and cultured!

6. Get a bit more smarter.
I did a lot of dumb things in 2012. It was stupid things that I could of easily prevented. I want to learn from my mistakes and do better.

7. Become a better violinist
violin is one of my true loves that I don't think I'll part with anytime soon

8. Secure my love life
I'm not going to flat out say I want a boyfriend cuz trust me that I could get one. I just don't any random guy. I think if I want my perfect guy, I'll have to improve myself first!

9. Successfully open a blogshop.
'Nuff said

10. Become rich and famous!
Lol jk

11. Drive
I will be able to drive by end of this year!

12, Take my flag twirling, rifle spinning, baton twirling to the next level
Maybe pro, maybe educator, who knows

13. Be the best I can be! Not what everyone expects of me!

Welcome 2013 and I hope together we can bring each other great fortune!

2012; the things I did do and lies I told myself

Happy New Year's Eve!

The new year is about to ring in and I've officially survived 5 apocolyspes! I'm on a roll, baby!

So one of the great things about having a blog is that you can look back and see how much things have changed and how many lies you've told yourself. I told myself quite a few lies!

So in reference to these posts:

http://moonangelko.blogspot.com/2012/02/2-years-to-make-it-happen.html
http://moonangelko.blogspot.com/2011/12/im-sorry-ive-been-redoing-my-layout-so.html

So believe it or not I didn't start (subconciously) following my new years resolution until this month. FML right.

According to my 2012 New Year Resolution:

1. Redo my wardrobe.

I did it! I was so stylish starting in september.

2, Redo my room
That didn't happen lol

3, Get eyelash extensions.

I didn't. I just started buying loads of falsies and struggled to effing glue them on

4. Get my nails done more.
I didn't. I was being too cheap and as a violinist, it wasn't worthwhile

5. Get a steady and large income.
I did keep myself this promise. I got a job and I worked harder in social media. Way better than $30 a month

6.Lose weight.
I sorta did, but from working in fast food I gained it back. So mission incomplete!

7. Get my license
Did the first step and got my permit, I give it a month before I can get my license

8. Publish a book.
I keep pushing that back! Waiting to cultivate my writing skills is better though.

9. Be fashionable everyday.
HA...ha....hahaha did I really think this was gonna happen?

10. Party more often
Naw bro, nerds stay home

11. Chase account
Chase! *faints* AIN'T NO ONE GOT MONEY FOR ALL OF THAT

12. Boyfriend
Last week I would of cried as I typed a big fat NO. But this week I can say its a work in progress thats a little bit hard to define. I'm picky.

I added a few things in February which I will basically sum up here. All my travel plans were moved to 2013. I think even my stuffed animals could realize that. I did go to NYC twice and met a gal at FIT Open House. I didn't get to meet up with the NYC gals cuz I didn't get back into gal makeup until this month. I got a job, I didn't meet my weight goals, etc etc. My 2013 goals are still intact btw.

2012 in pictures :)

Even though the pictures are scrambled, I can tell now, that I've had a lot of ugly camwhore moments in 2012. I'll improve in 2013! I promise!

Thank you for all of those who followed me through out 2012. I promise that 2013 will be 10 times better!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays guys!

I've been slugging behind blogging because I'm working on three huge posts that I thought you would guys would like. Plus you know the drill; full-time job, holiday shopping, and school, tends to keep me REALLY busy.

Santa has been very good to me this year and it's suppose to keep getting better. I got so much makeup this year from my friends. I got so much makeup from my friends and family that it's crazy. I thought this year would be the year for jewelry and other small gift thing. I guess they all see how often I fawn over makeup and watch Michelle Phan.

Believe it or not, Internet superstars Michelle Phan, Xiaxue, and Cheesie are my ultimate idols (I have a theory that Asian rule the internet, it's not a racial thing. I think its a culture thing, go figure).

I always challenge myself to do  Michelle Phan's makeup looks (whenever that's possible though, she uses so many sephora brands that I can't afford)
This is look is based on Formal Look Michelle Phan used

When Michelle uses any drugstore, best believe that eventually I would own the same item. I won't even remember where I've seen the product before but I know I will it be good #femaleintuition.

But lately, it hasn't just been watching Michelle, then transforming the look for my skintone. I good take any look and mimic it on the spot.

With my other talents, I'm at a point where I need to evaluate what would make me happy career wise. It's hard to pinpoint one thing that I'll be happy doing for the rest of life.

I love playing the violin, but I lack ability and proper education. For the most part, I am self taught.  When I see talents like youtube player Jun Sung Ahn, I bow my head in shame.

I love to write. But my scores in English class less then superb. Having that in mind, I applied to college for Advertising and Marketing Communications. I mean, I love blogging, that's something I would do for the rest of my life. I understand social media for the most part. I think I could ponder in that field. However, I hate the idea of working a desk job. I need to move every couple of minutes or else I would get sidetracked or fall asleep. I'll see for sure, once I *attempt* to intern somewhere.

I also love to do flag twirling professionally (I probably could as a hobby). Being a colorguard has changed so much about my life and I am inspired to keep going and keep healthy and explore my talent into more depth. Flag twirling leads into other paths too like dance, gymnastics etc.

I also love drawing, fashion, and makeup. I drawn together these three because these all lead into each other. Because I loved drawing, I started designing fashion because it's a more steady career path. I began to love fashion because its a physical form of expression. With fashion, I learned makeup to complete a look. Now, I'm working on learning how to do hair.

All these things are leading somewhere. Writing has lead me to a successful partnership for extra cash. Flag Twirling has led me to do many organizations and probably a professional group next year (*cough*"Emanon" *cough*). Drawing led me to do some commissions for classmate (extra cash). I'm starting a blogshop in March selling apparel and accessories.  In May, I'll be doing facials for girls. I would make so much money if only I could do hair -__-".

I mean I don't like slaving over designs for hours. So fashion design is a no/no (that being said I'm making apparel to sell because times are rough). I love to write, and I will publish a book in 2013, no doubt about it.  I love flag twirling and creating new choreography, challenging myself all the time to see how much I could improve. Violin, I love learning new pieces and playing for an audience, I wish I had more time to practice. Drawing is pretty meh now, my creativity no longer reaches the arts. And of course makeup, is a due try love. On myself and on others. Can't afford cosmetology school though ;(.

So I can tell for sure, that I don't quite know where the world will lead me tomorrow. I have many plans, many choices, many things I'm good at. Oh, senior year, why must you be so harsh on me.

P.S I'll be making a video tutorial soon.

P.S.S I'm thinking about working at Sephora.

Helping me Gain Customers with Mad Mimi

Advertorial:

So I think I mentioned before, but for a little while ago, I used to own a blogshop. I mostly sold circle lenses but as stricter government policy and a new fear, business dwindled and despite my success, the business and school couldn't work out.
Lately bloggers, Cheesie and Aud have started a brand called Forichzu. They have their own designs as well they have outsourced Japanese accessories and clothes for their shop. I thought it as a very good idea but something that isn't done in the U.S. How would I bring such an idea to the U.S? Unlike Malaysia, U.S is very vast and being based in suburban New York, I lose out on many market opportunities because I am not based in a major city. The blogging culture in U.S, differs from Asia, so how would I get customers?
This fall, I've been collaborating with a big name vintage store, to work toward making a my designs into a sell-able product. In addition, I have a distributor of apparel and jewelry to help me sell more items for my brand. I came to a conclusion that I would set up a blogshop. That would be a difficult because it's not a popular trend in the U.S but a cheap option with many good opportunities. I'll be opening store selectively in January and officially in February. I outsourced to 500 plus potential customers through Facebook and Twitter but that's no where near a big enough of audience that I need. So I decided to look more into social media marketing. I ran across the idea of email marketing and it lead me to Mad Mimi.
Mad Mimi is unusually good service for a crazy cheap price. I saw the website and reviews and I knew I just had to sign up. Prices start at only $10 a month. It's simple enough to use for even those who don't know anything about technology. It's a easy, efficient and superior email marketing service.

So guys if you are looking into email marketing for your business, you might want to check this out. It's a really good deal you really want to check this out. I will be using this service as I begin work on my blogshop.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.

DCNU Give Us Our Timmy Back

If you are comic nerd (even if your not) you must of have heard of at least once of man called Tim Drake. How tumblr fandom goes crazy over this said man and you might of even seen illustrations about him. You could even say the "Robin" in Dark Knight Rises is the most alike with Tim Drake. Well Tim Drake is a comic book character and he's my personal favorite character and is catalyst to my love of comics and the batman family.
Let me explain out of all characters, why Tim Drake is just so awesome. Tim, is the 3rd Robin (the title given to Batman sidekick) in the World of DC comics. He comes after 2 great characters. Nightwing (who is a super sexy character) and Jason Todd (who is just so...damaged...that you have to love him, but DCNU kinda ruins his character too). He stood apart from the rest because Tim was a natural detective, a genius, and it was almost defintive that someday he would become Batman.
I was actually introduced to Tim Drake through Teen Titans. Along with the Conner Kent, Cassie Sandmark, and Bart Allen, all of them great characters and all but soon I decided to go backwards and read Young Justice. From reading Young Justice, I began reading many Batfamily titles like, Nightwing, Robin, Gotham Knights etc etc. Despite for my extreme love for everyone from Young Justice. Tim Drake just was always the best. Maybe because he was the most real out of the characters or his nerdy jokes, who cares.
But the DCNU came along and crushed almost every awesome character and made all the sucky characters and a stupid timeline.

Honestly DCNU makes more sense if it was a 10 year span. I mean, 4 robins in 5 years? yougottobekiddingme.jpg.  Then each of origin stories just flat out destroyed characters. But of all of them, they just chopped and screwed them all. I think I'll talk about everyone else in a mass DCNU review post because not everything is so bad.

Okay back to Timmy. Tim Drake was kind of introduced in a good way. Genius, athletic, sense of justice.
These good feels that are shown here.  I mean, the whole gymnast thing just doesn't work because Tim Drake doesn't fight like someone who has mostly muscles in their upper body. He uses catalysts like his bo and his gadgets. Besides the point, Tim Drake's intro in Batman #0 is good. But then
They eff it over it Teen Titan #0. Teen Titans is just ruined deal all over. You see the real effects of peeling away everything that ever was Tim Drake.  Tim Drake was always an ongoing character. A guy who slowly loses everything and grows up with each of his loss. This Tim Drake hasn't really lost anything nor does he have the quirky innocent he had when he first started his vigilante rounds.  Everything is too rushed.
His costume design is just as bad as his new characterization. I understand, his old costume represented how much closer to becoming a Batman or his emotional growth but come on there were better designs to go through.
Like:
or

So much better lah?

Makes me mad.  Please decide to go to the first one sometime in the near future. PLEASE.

Also,  Tim doesn't have his close (and funny relationship) with Dick Grayson anymore. Which I miss like hell. The writers have been setting up some sort of relationship between Tim and Jason Todd but I don't see the humor in it. Dick is really close with Damian instead *gasp*

It bother me that Scott Loeb (who writes Teen Titans) doesn't write a good nor refreshing take on Tim Drake in Teen Titans yet he created a pretty awesome Jason in Red Hood and the Outlaws (despite a few things, the art seems to redeem it). Even more crazy, the same writer wrote an awesome Teen Titans #1 and introduced a pretty good version of Tim in Red Hood and the Outlaws.

Don't get me started on Scott Loeb, he has wronged us so many times.  Especially how decided that out of nowhere Tim Drake was officially never a robin yet...

Batman #1 clearly states otherwise. No, Mr. Loeb you can not release several issues of something referring to Tim Drake as former Robin and decide to change your mind later. IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT!!

And what destroys me most is that they took away this:

The entire relationship between Bruce Wayne and Tim Drake was destroyed. I think that broke my heart the most. Lunacy of it all, they have mentioned that Tim and Bruce are currently estranged and everything. Tim  used to be closest thing to a mini Bruce except had friends and was way more socialable. This puts the family relationships in a whole new perspective and since the timeline is so mashed together you not only don't know what to expect you have a very unnecessary character in the mess. Because technically Bruce isn't the ultimate father figure for Tim, their relationship isn't that close (because in the old DCU, their relationship was at least 5 years strong). Their relationship also won't become any closer because Tim is no longer Robin and thus no longer within Batman's training. Unless Tim buddy ups on adventures with Batman in Detective Comics we won't see any relationship growth. We don't even know why Bruce and Tim are supposedly not on good terms and why Tim is hiding in Lex Towers.

Seriously for a comic world you are trying to make less confusing,  DCNU made the comic world way more confusing.

However I do like that they keep Tim and Damian's relationship pretty much the same. I hate how childish Tim is though. Seriously 18, vigilante genius yet act like a 10 year old (I remember at least 4 examples of  said behavior). Somethings can be ignored but the way they set up Tim should of at least flowed with the origin story. Tim is middle class, private school and normal life. He should be a conservative snob, funny yet classy but down to earth and relate-able. I hope the writer will turn to that direction or Teen Titans will hit the bottom feeder of comic sales. So many people have dropped the book and people will continue after a great storyline like Death of a Family.

Read Death of a Family guys it's been doing good so far. I'll post on that in the future as well.

the majority of things said, the fandom will agree and fandoms are aggressive. They want a better Tim, they want the former batgirls Stephanie and Cassandra in some type of form. And they want you to stop killing off the Batfam.

And sorry for my non-comic-book-readers who read this and are confused as hell. And super sorry for horrible grammar.

False Lashes

More blogging from my phone O.o

Lately I've been constantly buying new lashes to wear.

I bought so many in a course of just of few days. I'm actually making an effort to cheat to the world with my appearance.

The lashes from china are super cheap. But they are really hard to put on. So I began to buy from ardells... Also hard to put on. Then I fell in love with Kiss I-Envy Lashes. Cheaper then ardells and human hair lashes only $3 each :). If only I didn't have so much trouble putting on lashes day to day. I have more lashes then the one shown above but my collection just keeps growing (as my wallet keeps shrinking)

Au Naturale 003
The ones I wore for this look:

My second successful time I wore lashes. I still have mistakes like a bit of a gap but for the most part I really like this one. (And yes I'm wearing a superboy shirt :)

Demi Lashes that I wore today
Sorry crappy phone camera, but this  was for a photo shoot so I'll show you the prints later. The lashes are actually very natural to my surprise. It didn't really stand out much and was really droopy (no matter how much I curled them) Unlike most Kiss I-envy, this isn't made of human hair. So I guess expectations shouldn't overput. No matter, it looks nice on my eyes with and without circle lenses.
Ardell Fairies taught me an important lesson about lashes. Thin lashes that look super pretty on asians like Loraine from aprilfoolromance.blogspot.com, for the most part won't appear against my skin tone.
It looked the same as wearing Falsies Mascara. I might as well have been wearing mascara

I'll keep posting as I try out more. I also bought a lot of other beauty products so I'll review some of them too like the Revlon colorstay eyeliner, elf cream eyeliner, Elf pen eyeliner, etc etc. Leave a comment if you want for me to post more makeup posts.

Some funny stuff

Blogging from my cellphone ladida. The blogger app for android isn't that bad la. Everyone always says bad stuff about it but who knows.

These past few weeks have been bizarrely stressful for me. Usually I get more stressed during my midterms in january but my school has been throwing out bullshit after bullshit.
They suspended me for 2 weeks for cyber bullying wtf. The curse of being a blogger with an opinion right? I didn't even say anything bad. I didn't go all out with a xiaxuemoment.jpg I just said this girl needs to stop bothering people or else she'll get her reckoning. I didn't say I would be the one giving her reckoning but evidently that's a threat. Futhermore she attacked me at school for a totally different reason but according to the school she doesn't need psychiatric help, I'm the one in the wrong.... okay I do sound rather guilty but the way this all played out, this girl was really just psycho.

So in the middle of my suspension, my mom up and goes to haiti, unannounced to my sister and I. We were like wtf woman, why u leave us? So most of the time me and my dad were home together. That was super awkward because we don't talk to each other much. But we are so alike that its crazy. For example he had to drive me somewhere by 8am one Saturday.

6am
Me: Daddy don't forget we have somewhere at 7:30
*he gets up and I accidently go back to sleep*
7:30
Me: *finds my dad asleep again* daddy why did you go back to sleep lor?
Dad: why did you go back to sleep?
Me: hey hey, I'm not the adult here
Dad: * grunts and slowly gets ready*

We didn't get there until 8:45. Mostly my fault though.
Once I did go back to school I took habit to wearing subtle gyaru makeup every so I can develop perfect makeup for senior picture.  This one is using Kiss I-envy Au Naturale 03 and puffy 3 tone grey

These ones uses the Ardell Fairies lashes and puffy 3tone violet. Mildy okay attempts except the fact that I had gaps in between my fake lakes and real lashes at times.

Kay kay nothing more to say. Thank you for reading.
